Elbow Properties

Property Name Description
Angle <angle value> between 1° and 90°
  • Sets actual angle between outlets based on angle in graphical representation.
Auto Size Radius
  • RadToDia follows changes of Radius
RadToDia
  • Radius follows changes of RadToDia.
inradius
  • Maintains a minimum value for outer radius based on inner radius.
r/d= <numeric value>
  • Sets inner and outer radii based on fitting center line using equation: centerline radius = depth1 (D1) x <value>
AutoVane
  • Calculates vane size using fitting radii.
  • Maintains proportionality at vane locations.
Auto Size asd-500 For Mitre elbow, sets properties to asd500 catalog specific.
Connection 1 | Length (L1) Positive <numeric value>
  • Sets the straight length of connection at End1.
Connection 2 | Length (L2) Positive <numeric value>
  • Sets the straight length of connection at End2.
Note: The L1 and L2 values differ for type of Elbow fittings; for example, for Mitered Elbows, the default value is 6 inches (imperial) / 150 mm (metric) and the minimum value should not be less than 2 inches (imperial) / 50 mm (metric).
Connection 3 | Length (L3) ... Connection 6 | Length (L6) <numeric value>
  • Set automatically by application.
Connection | End Type fl -<numeric value>
  • Sets and sizes end with a flange connection.
m -<numeric value>
  • Sets and sizes end with a male connection.
fe -<numeric value>
  • Sets and sizes end with a female connection.
Separate End Type entries for each End Spec with a semi colon.

Example: fl-2;fe-.13 creates a flange at End1 with size 2, and a female connection at End2 with an overall reduction of component's dimensions of .13

Elbow Type 0
  • No inner and outer radii.
1
  • Radii and custom vane size.
2
  • Radii and vane extending to outlet.
End Segment Angle <angle value> between 1° and 90°
  • Sets segment angle of segments nearest ends for segmented elbows.
Front Length Positive <numeric value>
  • Sets length of the front side of Compound Offset Elbow. It is (L1+D2).
Heel Radius Positive <numeric value>
  • Sets radius of heels of elbow.

No. of Vanes

<zero> and <integer>
  • Sets the number of vanes.
No. Of Mitres <integer> between 2 and 45.
  • Sets number of mitre segments.
Note: Mitre elbow with Auto Size asd-500 and Angle <= 30 sets the No. Of Mitres to 1.
Number Of Segments <integer>
  • Sets number of segments.
Note: For “0” value, the Oval Angular Elbow behaves as a Normal Elbow and for 2 and above Segmented Elbow.
Offset <numeric value>
  • Sets a center line offset between End1 and End2.
Offset Distance (H1) <numeric value>
(for Compound Offset Elbow)
  • Sets the running offset between elbow ends. It is 6" (150mm) by default, and minimum 2" (50mm).
Radius 1 (R1) Positive <numeric value>
  • Sets the inner radius.
Radius 2 (R2) Positive <numeric value>
  • Sets the outer radius.
Radius Positive <numeric value>
  • Sets center line radius.
Radius to Diameter Ratio <numeric value> greater than or equal to 1
  • Sets center radius by solving equation: centerline radius = depth1 (D1) x <value>
Segment Angle <angle value> between 1° and 90°.
  • Sets segment angle. Segments update starting from End1.
Side Length Positive <numeric value>
  • Sets length of the side of Compound Offset Elbow. It is (L2+W1)
Standard Angle <angle value> between 5° and 90°
  • Closest catalog match for angle property. Set by Manufacturer Catalogs.
Run1 Vane Size

Run3 Vane Size

<numeric value>;<numeric value>
  • Sets vane size at Run#.
  • Individual vane sizes separated by semi colon.
Run Side (for Compound Offset Elbow) 1–Front
  • Sets the run side to front.
2–Back
  • Sets the elbow run side to back.
Throat Radius Positive <numeric value>
  • Sets radius of throat edges of elbow .
Total Height <numeric value>
  • Sets the total length of the elbow. For Compound Offset Elbow, it is the sum of D1, W2 and Offset Distance (H1).
Vane Length / Radius <numeric value>;<numeric value>
  • Sets vane characteristics.
  • Individual vane radius or length values are separated by semi colon (semi colons equals to No. of Vanes).
Vane Type 0–ShortRadius
  • Generates a curved vane with a radius defined by the Vane Size property.
1–LongRadius
  • Generates a curved vane extending to the elbow's outlets.
2–ShortAngle
  • Generates an angled (no curve) vane.
3–LongAngle
  • Generates an angled vane that extends to the elbow's outlets.
Vane Type

(for Z and Compound Offset Elbows)

0–ShortRadius
  • Generates a curved vane with a radius defined by the Vane Size property.
